The reason people drive ten hours
"It was the internationally recognized Dark Sky Community classification that led me to Crestone. It's this Airbnb that will have me making the 10.5 hour drive again."
Jennifer · Crestone Cabin
One neighbor, to the west. 270 degrees of quiet, and a sky so dark the Milky Way casts a shadow.
Welcome to your mountain escape in Crestone, Colorado. Our modern 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin sits against the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and our only neighbor is to the west — so the mountain views stay unobstructed. Each morning and evening the local deer family comes through the property, and now and then a black bear does too.
Heat is an ETS heat sink in the main living space and baseboard heating in the bedrooms, so the cabin is warm before you get out of bed. The wood-burning stove is for the extra-toasty evenings — the ones where you stay up late for the stars.
Crestone is an internationally recognized Dark Sky Community, and the back deck is one of the best places anywhere to watch the Milky Way. Perfect for a romantic escape, a family adventure, or a solo retreat.

What guests said
If you are looking to stay in Crestone... look no farther. This modern, serene cabin was exactly what I was looking for: spotless, clean, warm and cozy, incredible views on all three sides with huge windows. The pictures don't compare to the actual location. Stunning.
WOW. This place is the definition of essentialism. Everything you need and nothing you don't. You're surrounded by mountains and a short drive or long walk to trailheads. We had a family of deer walk up to the windows on several occasions. I will 100% be rebooking here.
Beautiful mountain views and sunsets, and views of the Milky Way from the back deck! Very comfortable for 2 adults, our 15 and 12 year olds and our dog, and the 2 desks let my husband and me work remotely.
Before you book
How is the WiFi? I plan to work remotely.
About 100 Mbps, plenty for video calls and streaming. If it drops, reboot instructions are in the Guest Book and posted in the kitchen. The provider (Ciello) will only troubleshoot with someone at the property.
What is parking like? I have an RV, trailer or boat.
Room for 3-4 vehicles. With a trailer, back in: the road at the end of the driveway is narrow. Longer vehicles can pull into the right-most area up to the woodpile.
Can I bring my pet?
Housetrained dogs are welcome; we are not currently able to host cats. House rules and pet fees are listed at booking. Service animals are welcome at no extra charge, as the ADA provides. Have a special case? Email us.
Do you offer military or first-responder discounts?
We don't offer occupation-based discounts, in fairness to everyone. We do offer returning guests 10% off the nightly rate. Email us before you book so we can apply it.
Can I smoke or vape?
No. Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside and within 10 feet of any entrance. Violations may result in immediate eviction, a penalty of up to $500 per violation plus damages.
Can I rearrange the furniture?
Please don't. Moving furniture has damaged floors and walls in the past. If you do move something, put it back as you found it; resulting damage will be charged.
When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is often possible when the calendar allows. Just ask.
